Smells Like Teen Sprites (not a typo)

Libraries, used bookstores and curio shops are irresistible to me because of all the stories and movies about finding something magical in them. (To name a few: Fushigi Yuugi,  The Neverending Story and Gremlins, respectively.)  I always go into those places hoping to find magic. I think that day has come.

Creating Fairy Garden Scents by Linda Gannon immediately caught my eye because the title and cover reminded me of my Vera Wang Flower Princess perfume. After some browsing, I made up my mind to buy it.

It's only a few pages long but it's very comprehensive. The book contains:

-some background on faerie lore

-fragrance recipes for all four seasons with cute names and presentation styles.

- even a section on how to see faeries.

- info on the materials you'll be using like herbs, flowers, essential oils and their health benefits as well as effect in aromatherapy.

-basic tenchniques like drying flowers.

- lots of pretty pictures.

This is definitely a good find, in my opinion. Of course, I will still frequent curio stores. I still want a Mogwai. =))

  1. Lotsa pretty pictures indeed! Will you try making your own perfume? :P

  2. Fushigi yuugi! I was a fan too! :)

    Great find!

  3. There's something so magical about fairies. I totally heart them! And haha...every time I think of Gremlins, I think of fried chicken. XD

  4. @Pammy: I'd love to try it at least once. BUT! Some ingredients are kind of hard to find in our country. Maybe when I go to Baguio again where flowers are much cheaper. =)

    @Bee: hooray! I loved it so much before. =))

    @kay: clap your hands if you believe *winks*

    @Rosamond Kim: Agreed! =))

    @Shop n' Chomp: Loved that part!
