5 Current Obsessions

I was tagged by the beautiful Amy Naree. Visit her blog and check out her cute pictures!

1. Chococat

I am currently in love with all things Chococat. It's frustrating that I can't seem to find any merchandise around my area. Chococat fans don't get no love from local distributors/resellers.

I can has Chococat?

I mean, I know a lot of lovelies out there are all about Hello Kitty. I adore her, too. Who wouldn't? She's a total fashion icon. But Chococat is really cute, too.

2. Alternative Medicine
http://www.umdnj.edu/icam/newsletter/images/homeopathytemp_000.jpg
Since my health scare earlier this year (don't worry, I'm fine) I have been into all kinds of treatments, like reflexology, accupuncture, moxibustion, the thingy with the magnets, the thingy with crystals and even the lesser-known kinds. I like reading about different procedures, but I haven't tried everything out there.

I have also been taking several herbal supplements for some time now. I've cut down the list considerably because herbal or not, I don't want to be popping too many pills.

I'm left with the following:
1. Cranberry pills for the kidney/urinary tract
2. Colon Cleanse
3. Apple Cider Vinegar capsules for overall health- this has a kind of appetite-suppressant effect, so I guess it's also good for weight-loss.
4. Milk Thistle Extract/ Silymarin Capsules - for the liver, to couteract all this self-medication.

I know there are some people out there who think that herbal medicine is a scam, but I disagree simply because nature has been preserving life since the dawn of time. And nothing man-made is ever better than anything made by God.

3. Period Styles
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c5/Harrods_1909.jpg
I love watching period movies because of the costumes and props. Everything seemed so elegant, glamorous and well-made. Sometimes I wish people still dressed the way they did in the past, but I guess it wouldn't be practical or suitable to today's lifestyle. I just have to be content with watching movies and the occasional chance to dress up.

4. Zooey Deschanel
http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/7425117/Zooey+Deschanel+4ie85eb.jpg

I have been a big fan of Zooey Deschanel since I saw her with her sister Emily in one of my magazines before. (Elle Girl, I think.) She is such a doll and her style reminds me of the great Hollywood moviestars of the good ol' days whom I also love.

Also, she was the Dorothy Gale character in Tin Man. I'm a big Wizard of Oz fan, too!

5. Craft-y Things

I could never pass by a craft store without buying anything, even if it's just a length of ribbon. But I love beads the most. I kinda hoard them. I think I could buy a million types of beads and still want more. I also sometimes buy stuff I would never in a million years use with the types of crafts I do.

Thank you Amy!

Hope all of you reading also share your obsessions with me.

Have a nice day!

  1. Jackie, I love your fun list! I love period clothing too. My fave is 1930s Shanghai. I wish we could go back to a time when people actually dressed up a bit. :)

  2. Thanks for doing this Jackie! It was so much fun to read. Oooh I love Zooey too, she's so cute and quirky.

Period pieces are fun to watch sometimes I wish we can dress like they did back in the days. They were so much more elegant and detailed, nowadays you can get away with just t-shirts and jeans :)
